Clear choices for the information connected to your move.

Scope and current status

This policy applies to movedaymap.com and the MoveDayMap planning, moving-budget, quote-comparison, mover-verification, state-resource, and first-30-days tools. MoveDayMap is operated by Bill Stevens as an independent project.

The current release does not require an account or operate an on-site contact form. The Google tag loads on site pages with analytics storage denied by default, then changes to granted only if a visitor allows analytics. Selected supply sections on the homepage, moving budget, practical moving guides and first-month checklist page, plus recommendations shown with Moving Cost Calculator results and the optional label link after the Box Inventory instructions, include labeled Amazon affiliate links; Google AdSense display ads are not currently active. The advertising sections below explain the disclosures and choices that will apply if Google AdSense or another advertising service is activated. Applying for an advertising program does not mean ads are currently running.

Information stored on your device

Box inventory and labels

The box inventory saves item IDs, room names, contents notes, priorities, packing and arrival states, optional mover numbers and reserved IDs in this browser. It does not upload these records. Its JSON backup and CSV export contain your private notes; printed box labels omit contents and mover numbers. Restoring an inventory backup replaces this tool’s records only after review and confirmation. “Reset inventory” clears its items and reserved IDs separately from the main planner. Downloaded copies remain until you delete them.

Moving Cost Calculator inputs and sound

The calculator saves origin and destination ZIP codes, home size, moving method, manually entered road miles and optional budget details locally in this browser. Its sound preference is also local and starts off. No driving-route provider is configured and ZIP or road-mile entries are not sent to a route service. Start Over clears calculator inputs and keeps the sound preference; turn Sound off or clear browser site data to remove that choice. Calculator inputs are separate from planner backups and do not automatically transfer to the planner.

Optional Amazon category links contain only a supply search and the configured Associate tag; your calculator entries are not added to their URLs.

MoveDayMap stores the information you enter into its planning tools in your browser's local storage. The service-handoff register stores task labels, provider names, requested and confirmed service dates, status, and next-step notes on this device; it does not submit them to providers. This can include your move date, origin and destination states, household and service selections, checklist progress, expected and paid moving-budget amounts, contingency entry, spending limit, available cash, savings deadline, payment dates, cost notes, refund records, comparison scenarios, moving-quote amounts, company names, comparison notes, and mover-verification record.

Those entries are used to generate your plan, calculate your user-entered budget, remember progress, compare written estimates, and restore the workspace when you return on the same browser. The current app does not transmit those entries to a MoveDayMap account or MoveDayMap-operated database.

Downloads, printing, and calendars

When you download a planner backup, MoveDayMap creates a JSON file on your device containing the planner and quote information included in that backup. Restoring a backup reads the selected file in your browser and replaces the current browser's plan only after confirmation.

Calendar exports are created on your device and contain dated task titles, task guidance, and relevant links. They do not include your quote entries or company notes. Importing a calendar file shares its contents with the calendar service you choose, and that provider's privacy terms then apply.

Printing or saving a PDF is handled by your browser and device. You are responsible for storing, sharing, and deleting downloaded or printed copies.

Technical and hosting data

When you request a page, the hosting and security infrastructure may process technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as an IP address, requested URL, date and time, browser or device information, and error or security events.

MoveDayMap does not use that technical data to build a profile from your planner entries. Hosting-provider processing, security practices, and retention are governed by the provider's applicable terms. MoveDayMap cannot confirm the provider's exact retention period for every category of technical log.

Cookies, local storage, and analytics

MoveDayMap uses browser local storage to preserve tool settings and progress. Local storage is not the same technology as a cookie, but both are forms of information stored in a browser.

The Google tag for measurement ID G-1F6DJD5S2H loads with analytics storage denied by default. In this mode, Google says its tag can send limited measurements without analytics cookies, including consent state and technical information. If you choose “Allow analytics,” the setting changes to granted and Google Analytics can use a first-party cookie and fuller page measurement. MoveDayMap does not intentionally send the contents of your planner, budget, quote, verification, or service-handoff fields as analytics events. If you decline, analytics storage remains denied and limited measurements without cookies may still be sent. Your choice is stored in this browser and can be changed using “Analytics settings” in the footer. Withdrawing consent updates the tag’s storage setting; it does not automatically delete an existing Google Analytics cookie. Your browser settings can remove cookies and site storage. Clearing all site storage also removes saved plans, budget entries, completed tasks, quotes, verification records, the service-handoff register, and the analytics choice.

Consent and regional privacy choices

The Google Analytics tag loads with analytics storage denied by default. The analytics choice controls whether analytics cookies may be used; declining keeps analytics storage denied. It does not grant consent for advertising. Where consent is required for advertising cookies, local storage, or personalized advertising, MoveDayMap will provide the relevant advertising consent interface before activating that technology. Visitors must be able to make a choice and later change or withdraw it.

Google currently requires publishers serving personalized ads in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland to use a Google-certified consent management platform integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. MoveDayMap must activate and test that consent system before intentionally serving personalized ads to visitors in those regions.

Sharing and external services

Optional shopping links use an Amazon Associates tracking ID to identify MoveDayMap as the referral source. Amazon receives your visit when you follow a link and may use cookies and other data under its own Privacy Notice. These plain links do not embed Amazon scripts or images on MoveDayMap, and they do not include your checklist, planner, budget or quote entries.

MoveDayMap does not sell the planner settings, budget amounts, quote details, or mover notes you enter into its tools. Technical data may be processed by hosting and security providers as described above. Google may process limited measurement data without cookies while analytics storage is denied; allowing analytics enables cookies and fuller measurement as described above. Advertising data may be processed by disclosed advertising providers if ads are activated.

Links to government agencies, Google services, calendar providers, and other websites take you to services that control their own privacy practices. The MoveDayMap contact link opens a form on The Music Educator Podcast website; information submitted there is governed by that website's privacy policy and is not stored in MoveDayMap's browser-local tools.

Security and retention

Browser-local information remains on your device until you clear it, your browser removes it, or the site's storage is reset. MoveDayMap cannot recover browser-local data after it is deleted. Downloaded, printed, or calendar copies remain until you or the receiving service deletes them.

No internet service or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure. Do not enter Social Security numbers, banking credentials, complete payment-card numbers, medical records, identity documents, or account passwords into MoveDayMap fields.

Children's privacy

MoveDayMap is a general-audience moving resource and is not directed to children under 13. The current site does not offer accounts or knowingly request personal information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted personal information through an external contact service may contact the operator so the concern can be directed appropriately.

Your privacy choices

• Clear the planner: use “Clear my saved data” in the planner to remove planner settings, completion history, and quotes from this browser.
• Clear the budget: use “Clear” in the moving-budget worksheet and confirm the deletion. This also clears budget money tools, notes, dates, refunds, and scenarios. Downloaded backups remain on your device until you delete them.
• Clear mover verification: use “Clear record” in the mover-verification workspace.
• Manage browser data: use your browser settings to inspect or delete site storage and cookies.
• Control Google ads: if advertising is activated, use Google Ads Settings and any consent controls displayed on MoveDayMap.
• Ask a question: contact the operator for a privacy question or documented correction. Do not send sensitive identity or financial records.

Homepage feedback poll

The optional homepage poll stores your selected moving need, written suggestion and submission time in our hosted database. Aggregate vote totals are public. Written suggestions are accessible only to site administrators through the protected database viewer. Do not include personal or sensitive information. An essential, first-party cookie remembers a random response identifier for up to one year to limit repeat submissions in this browser; it is not used for advertising. Clearing cookies may allow another response. Poll submissions are voluntary and are separate from the browser-local planning worksheets. To request removal of a written suggestion, contact us with enough non-sensitive detail to locate it.

Policy updates and contact

This policy will be revised when MoveDayMap's data practices materially change, including before or when advertising, new forms, accounts, or additional third-party services are activated. The effective and review dates at the top will be updated when changes are published.

For a privacy question, correction, or accessibility concern, use the MoveDayMap contact page and begin the message with “MoveDayMap privacy.” Include the relevant page address and enough detail to understand the request, but do not send contracts, identity documents, complete account numbers, or other sensitive records.
